YEREVAN. – The European Union is concerned over security situation in the region, especially unprecendented vioaltions at the line of contact, head of EU delegation to Armenia Traian Hristea said during a discussion in Yerevan.

“The protracted conflict has no military solution, while the status quo is unsustainable,” Hristea said during discussion titled “Armenia-EU Relations: Charting a New Course”.

The diplomat recalled that EU is not a part of Minsk Group mechanism dealing with the settlement of Karabakh conflict, but the Union supports peace building efforts through the special representative for the South Caucasus.
