YEREVAN. – Situation on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan was discussed during a meeting of Armenian Defense Minister and OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs James Warlick, Igor Popov and Pierre Andreau. Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk was also present.

Minitr Ohanyan presented briefed the mediators on major incidents registered on the line of contact as well as on his views about the possible factors causing a sharp rise in tension.

The sides expressed concern about the situation with upsurge in violence between the conflicting parties in recent months, adhering to consensus on the need to implement confidence building measures.

They discussed a number of possible solutions to enhance confidence and exclude incidents. In this context, Minister Ohanyan expressed unconditional readiness of the Armenian side.
