YEREVAN. – Four-year-old Yelena, who was severely injured in a hand grenade explosion in an Armenian capital city Yerevan apartment on February 6, has been discharged from hospital.

The head of the Surb Astvatsamayr (Holy Mother of God) Medical Center Intensive Care Unit, Anna Chobanyan, informed the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

She noted that the little girl is in normal condition, her wounds have healed, but she cannot walk, and she will be fitted a prosthesis in several months.

Yelena (born in 2011) had undergone surgery on the same day of the incident, and her left foot was removed.

At the time of the tragic occurrence, the little girl was at home with her relative Anahit Khachatryan (born in 1969), who also was injured and in stable condition after likewise undergoing surgery. Khachatryan’s husband Melik Galstyan (born in 1963) was detained on suspicion of detonating the grenade in the apartment, and he had confessed to committing this act on the grounds of jealousy.
