YEREVAN. – An Armenian government delegation, led by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, on Wednesday arrived in Kuwait on an official visit.
After the official welcoming ceremony at the airport, the delegation headed for the seat of the Emir of Kuwait, where Abrahamyan met with Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The PM conveyed to the Emir of Kuwait the warm greetings by the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, and his invitation to pay an official visit to Armenia. The Emir of Kuwait, for his part, likewise extended his warm greetings to the Armenian president and thanked for the invitation.
The Premier noted that his official trip to Kuwait attests to Armenia’s intention to develop bilateral relations. In turn, Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah noted that this visit will contribute to making Armenian-Kuwaiti relations grow deeper.
In this context, the interlocutors discussed the avenues for the expansion of ties between the two countries.
The PM of Armenia and the Emir of Kuwait also reflected on regional matters. They stressed the importance of peaceful resolution of conflicts, and the need for ensuring stability in the region.
Furthermore, Abrahamyan thanked Kuwait for the warm attitude towards the Armenian community in the country, and assistance to the Syrian-Armenians who have moved to Armenia due to the civil war in Syria.
Hovik Abrahamyan and Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also conferred on several other matters of mutual interest.
