YEREVAN. – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, on Friday received a German Bundestag (Parliament) delegation, led by political party Alliance ‘90/The Greens Co-Chairman Cem Ozdemir, who is of Turkish origin.

Nalbandian highly praised the Armenia-Germany relations, and he also underscored the active cooperation between the parliamentarians of the two countries.

In turn Ozdemir, who recognizes the Armenian Genocide, noted that this is his first visit to Armenia and it is symbolic in that it occurs at the threshold of the centenary of the genocide. The FM, for his part, briefed the guests on the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations being held in Armenia and abroad. 

Edward Nalbandian and Cem Ozdemir also exchanged views on Armenia-European Union (EU) relations, and the prospects for their development.

In addition, the Foreign Minister presented Armenia’s outlook on regional issues and the avenues for their solutions.

The interlocutors also reflected on urgent regional and international matters. In this context, Minister Nalbandian presented the ongoing joint efforts by Armenia and the three OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to find a pacific resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
