Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has a whole arsenal of tools to protect the sovereignty of the member states in the event of an external threat, CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha said.
Bordyuzha said there is a threat from the outside, especially Afghanistan, to the countries of Central Asia.
“We have information about an increasing number of extremist armed groups in Afghanistan and we do not exclude their penetration into the territory of the organization,” Bordyuzha said.
Secretary General assured that the organization has all forces and tools to protect integrity and sovereignty of CSTO member states, TASS reported.
CSTO has rapid reaction forces and 22,000 well trained elite troops, he added.
