YEREVAN. – The Azerbaijani NGOs could have honestly said why they cannot arrive in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan to attend the Euronest (European Union+Eastern Partnership countries) Parliamentary Assembly session.
The secretary of Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party National Assembly Faction, Tevan Poghosyan, stated the aforesaid at Monday’s meeting in Yerevan, and between the participants in the aforementioned session and the civil sector.
Poghosyan drew attention to the fact that the civil society representatives from all countries, except for Azerbaijan, are represented in this event.
“If we talk about trust between the civil societies of the Eastern Partnership countries, such a statement [by the Azerbaijan NGOs] would have helped us understand that they want to cooperate, but can’t arrive in Yerevan because of the pressure put by the ruling [Azerbaijani] regime, which they don’t oversee,” the Armenian MP stressed, in particular.
