YEREVAN. – When it comes to participation in the April 24 events to be held in Armenia and Turkey, Georgia will find a middle-ground solution between its fraternal feelings toward the neighboring people and the complex geopolitical realities.

Georgian opposition MP David Darchiashvili told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am during the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, which the Armenian capital city of Yerevan is hosting.

“Of course we [, Georgians,] fully understand the pain that lives within the Armenian society for generations. We understand its role in the formation of the contemporary self-consciousness of the Armenian nation.

“At the same time, to be honest, we are in a very complicated geopolitical situation,” Darchiashvili noted in response to the query on whether a high-level Georgian delegation will attend the Armenian Genocide centenary commemorations to be held on April 24 in Yerevan.

To note, this year Turkey has decided to hold the Battle of Gallipoli commemorations also on the same day.
