The deputy head of the Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament) group for interparliamentary ties with Armenia, Algis Kašėta, delivered remarks at Monday’s official opening of an exhibition.

The exhibition is entitled “Armenian Genocide Coverage on Front Pages of World Press,” and is held at the Lithuanian Museum of Genocide Victims.

Kašėta noted that genocide is a crime against humanity. In his view, along with 1.5 million Armenians, the Armenian cultural heritage also was destroyed.

The Lithuanian MP stressed that the condemnation of the Armenian Genocide is the task of all mankind.

“We must not remain silent; we must act,” he added.
