YEREVAN. – Russia shook post-Cold war order in Europe with actions in Ukraine, Mr Ryszard Czarnecki, Vice President of the European Parliament, said in Yerevan on Tuesday at the plenary session of the Euronest parliamentary assembly.

The assembly unites MPs from the EU and Eastern partnership countries.

“The illegal annexation of Crimea and the war in Eastern Ukraine have claimed many lives and have had repercussions on the entire region. The European parliament strongly condemns the aggression in Ukraine, which is a violation of the international law,” Czarnecki said.

He reaffirmed support for the peaceful solution of the conflict and expressed hope that Russia “will respect Minsk agreement”.

These events call for a reinforcement of the Eastern Partnership, to make it a more effective vehicle to promote interests of member states, he added.
