YEREVAN. – Vice President of the European Parliament Ryszard Czarnecki mentioned Armenian massacre in Armenian language at the plenary session of the Euronest parliamentary assembly in Yerevan on Tuesday.

He first remarked that the plenary session in Yerevan is a significant event in the evolving partnership of Armenia and the EU, and expressed gratitude to the hosting parliament of Armenia.

He then proceeded in Armenian, pronouncing a few phrases about the massacre of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire. Starting with “shnorhakalutyun: (thank you), he went on:

“We find ourselves in a country with a long history and a rich cultural heritage. We commemorate the 100th anniversary of your tragedy,” he said in Armenian.
