YEREVAN. – European parliament members chose not to comment on the right of the people of the Nagorno-Karabakh republic to mobility at a press conference in Yerevan on Wednesday.
They preferred not to voice their opinion on continuous threats of Baku to shoot down civil planes that would fly between NKR’s capital, Stepanakert, and Yerevan.
Members of the European parliament and their fellow MPs from the Eastern Partnership countries (excluding Azerbaijan) have come to Yerevan to participate in the plenary session of the Euronest parliamentary assembly on March 17-18.
Euronest assembly co-chair, Mr Heidi Hautala (Finland), said that the assembly is not entitled to mediate the negotiations, which is the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
“What we can say is we want to see progress between two countries,” she said.
