Turkey's Ambassador to Lebanon was temporarily trapped inside a cinema in Beirut as Armenian protesters staged demonstration on Wednesday, Daily Star reported.
Security forces blocked the entrance of cinema to prevent moviegoers from clashing with the protesters, the newspaper writes.
The protesters were chanting “Genocide”, “We remember” slogans when the Ambassador was in a cinema to watch a film about a love story during the Battle of Gallipoli.
One of the protesters told Daily Star that the protests stemmed from the perception that Turkey is trying to sway public attention away from the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide by focusing on Gallipoli events.
