YEREVAN. – The policy of closed borders, to which Turkey sticks against Armenia, is alienating people in the region and ruining their hopes for peace, Mr Karen Nazaryan, said on Thursday at the session of EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Yerevan.
He acknowledged the efforts of the members of the European parliament and their strong message condemning the Armenian Genocide and other crimes against humanity. In the wake of a centennial anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, these efforts must be as strong as ever, he added.
Neglecting genocides prompts their recurrence, he stressed, mentioning today’s atrocities of the Islamic State in the Middle East. Tens of thousands of non-Muslims were killed or forced to flee their homes, he added.
