YEREVAN. – Unlike Azerbaijan, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) sees no alternative to a pacific settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
NKR Minister of Foreign Affairs Karen Mirzoyan stated the aforesaid while speaking Friday, on the final day of the “At the Foot of Mount Ararat” international media forum being held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
In his words, the NKR continues making efforts to achieve a lasting peace and stability.
“But this process cannot be unilateral. Our principled position is as follows: The settlement of the problem shall be based on peace, equality, and respect of the right to self-determination,” Mirzoyan stressed.
As per the NKR FM, to reach a final settlement to this conflict, it is indispensible to concentrate all forces on making the respective efforts and creating conditions for a peaceful coexistence between two independent states: NKR and Azerbaijan.
“It is apparent that the international recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will also ensure the irreversibility of the peace process, and become a signal for the inadmissibility of the use of force, and the threats of force by official Baku,” Karen Mirzoyan concluded.
