An investigation on the assassination of the Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink will be launched against the former Turkish Interior Minister Muammer Güler. The latter was the governor of Istanbul Province at the time of Dink’s assassination.

On June 7 of this year Mr. Güler’s immunity ends and the judicial authorities are going to start an investigation against him on the charge of knowing about Dink’s murder and failing to prevent it, as reported by the Turkish Gercekgundem website.

Currently certain problems have emerged with regard to commencing the above-mentioned investigation, specifically Mr. Güler’s dossier has disappeared.
