YEREVAN. – The parliaments of countries “victimized” by Turkey must be united in their struggle for justice, head of Heritage faction Ruben Hakobyan said.

Certain moves have been made in this direction: Cyprus and Greece have recognized the Armenian Genocide long ago and have recently adopted laws criminalizing its denial. The Armenian parliament also adopted a statement condemning the genocide of Greeks and Assyrians in the Ottoman Empire.

“But we should not stop on this. It is necessary to engage the countries that have experienced the life under Turkey's rule: Bulgaria, Serbia. Our lawmakers should create coordinated body for the joint actions,” he said.

Bulgaria has not formally recognized the Armenian Genocide, but moreover has been silent about the pogroms against Thracian Bulgarians in the Ottoman Empire in1913.
