YEREVAN. - The current year has brought about dramatic increase in the number of Armenian citizens, for whom the ban on entering Russia has been removed, Gagik Yeganyan, Head of State Migration Service of Armenia’s Territorial Administration Ministry told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to him, the positive answers received from Russia by January of the current year amounted to 23,6 per cent, that indicator growing twice, reaching 52,6 per cent.

Gagik Yeganyan also said that by May 1 the State Migration Service has received 7651 applications, 6897 of which have been sent to Russian Federation Migration Service.  “4976 of these applications have been answered, 1991 of them getting positive response,” Yeganyan said.

Responding to the question on the reasons of this recent trend, he said:  “The continuous work with Russia yields positive results. This matter is constantly controlled by Minister Armen Yeritsyan. I present him these data every week. By the way, in the near future the meeting of the Minister Armen Yeritsyan and Russian Federal Migration Service Director Konstantin Romodanovsky is scheduled.”
