Paris City Council adopted a non-binding resolution, requesting the city to start talks with the state on finding a long-term solution for the allocation of the Armenian Museum of France either in Paris or in Greater Paris, Nouvelles d'Arménie reports.

The resolution introduced by the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) also urges the mayor to “consider together with the museum administration the possibility of providing temporary free premises by the state to hold its exhibitions during 2015,” when the Armenian Genocide Centennial is commemorated.  

Armenian Museum of France, which possesses nearly 1200 works related to the Armenian history and culture, has been closed to the public since 1995. Its premises, which are of public ownership, have undergone restoration in 2011, however the latter haven’t been returned to the museum since then.
