In 2014 Armenia had 102 thousand students and 913 Ph.D candidates, Armenia’s Education Deputy Minister Karine Harutyunyan said in the parliament on Monday.

In total, 22 state universities operate in the Republic: 35 universities are private, 5 of them operating by interstate agreements. 102 thousand students learn in them through on-Campus and Distance Education Modes, 94 thousand of those students learning in state universities.  

Financial assistance is received by roughly 10,7 thousand of students, 256 of them by foreigners.
