YEREVAN. – The explosion that occurred on May 30 in a natural gas station in Charentsavan, Republic of Armenia (RA), and as a result, one person was killed, was the fourth natural gas station explosion in the country during the month of May, reported Zhoghovurd daily.

“Three people were killed as a result of all these explosions.

“Against the backdrop of these explosions in the [natural] gas stations [in the country], rumors already have been spreading that the RA authorities have decided to take the opportunity and set monopolies in this domain, too.

“The thing is that, the domain of [the country’s natural] gas stations, from the viewpoint of their owners, is currently very diverse, which provides some competition in the domain. And there are suspicions that the [Armenian] authorities, under the name of tightening control in the domain, will force several ‘ownerless’ [natural] gas stations to close,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
