YEREVAN. – The Public Services Regulatory Commission may announce its position on electricity price on June 9-10, head of the Commission Robert Nazaryan said in parliament on Tuesday.

Nazaryan named several factors that provoked the necessity to increase electricity price. First of all it is about U.S. dollar rate to the Armenian dram. When the rate for the population was increased by 10-12% last year, the calculations were made based on an exchange rate of AMD 407.6/$1, and now it has reached 480-81. The exchange rate affected the cost of nuclear fuel for the Armenian NPP in terms of national currency.

Another factor is water level in the rivers, which last year turned out to be unfavorable for hydropower, Nazaryan added.
