YEREVAN. – The Armenian authorities should make an unbiased decision that will be acceptable to the public, head of teh ruling Republican Party of Armenia faction Vahram Baghdasaryan said after parliamentary debates on electricity price hike.

“We will hold another meeting of faction on Monday to make conclusions. We will also brief the media,” Baghdasaryan told reporters on Tuesday.

Asked whether the price will be increased, the politician said the debates are underway and there is no need to talk about figures.

The Public Services Regulatory Commission has disagreement with the rate proposed by Electric Networks, Baghdasaryan said.

“I think the decision will be made on the basis of unbiased facts,” he assured.

The current electricity rate is 41.85 drams per 1 kWh during the day and 31.85 at night. However, it is proposed to increase the rate to 58 and 48 drams respectively.
