YEREVAN. – OSCE is interested in preserving stability in the South Caucasus, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ivica Dacic said during a joint press conference with Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian in Yerevan.

“Armenia is a friendly country for Serbia. We want to see development of bilateral relations,” he said.

The relations needed to be developed both in terms of political dialogue and the expansion of the legal field, inter-parliamentary relations, different directions of the economy.

Speaking about the activities of the OSCE, Ivica Dacic said that the organization unites 57 countries, and decisions are taken by consensus: “In view of this, we must have the patience for the issues on which we have different opinions.”

The Chairperson stressed that the OSCE is interested in maintaining stability in the region and strengthening of confidence-building measures between the regional actors. The OSCE official also expressed support for the Minsk Group that is a mediator in the Karabakh settlement.

Mr. Dacic stated with satisfaction the high level of relations between Armenia and OSCE, which is very important from the viewpoint of continuation of reforms in the country.
