YEREVAN. – Official Stepanakert does not consider the initiative to expand format of the OSCE Minsk Group to be expedient, Karabakh Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan said.

“I think the existing format is the best option. The situation is not conditioned by the staff of the Minsk Group, but destructive position displayed by Azerbaijan,” Mirzoyan said after a meeting of OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ivica Dacic with Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan.

Asked how close is time when Nagorno-Karabakh may become a full participant in the negotiations, the Minister said “this is our position of principle, and it is not just a requirement - it comes from the understanding that it is impossible to objectively succeed without full participation of Nagorno-Karabakh at all stages of talks. This is the position we have repeatedly voiced on different occasions, and at this meeting, too.”
