The ministries of Armenia and the Czech Republic are discussing the solution to a criminal case of mob boss Andranik Soghoyan, Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan said during his visit to Prague.

Soghoyan was charged with ordering contract killing in the Czech Republic. Yerevan is ready to deal with the case, if a viable way were found, České Noviny reported.

“Every man who violates law must take the responsibility for it,” Abrahamyan said at a press conference with his Czech counterpart, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka.

Armenia's PM said he was informed about a proposal of the Justice Ministry of the Czech Republic. However, since there is no agreement on extradition between the states, the ministries will have to find a solution.

In February 2013 , the High Court of Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, upheld a 22-year prison sentence in absentia for the Armenian “thief-in-law.” Soghoyan was detained in downtown Yerevan. Since Armenia's legislation does not enable its citizens to serve their prison terms abroad and the documents from Czech Republic were not received, Soghoyan was set free.
