YEREVAN. – The process which began in Israel will finally lead to recognition of the Armenian Genocide, as the Jewish nation has acknowledged the fact long ago, representative of the Jewish community in Armenia Adelina Livshits told reporters.

The Israeli nation realizes and takes to heart the tragedy of the Armenian people.

“But, unfortunately, there is politics and geopolitics. You know the region where Israel is situated. The Muslim neighbors on whom you cannot rely. The only country having any ties with Israel is Turkey. And we are all aware that Turkey cannot be called a friend, it is Israel's enemy, but the lesser enemy,” said Livshits, editor of Magen David newspaper.

According to her, the recent statements by Knesset speaker Yuli Edelstein and remarks by President Reuven Rivlin are unprecedented.

As reported earlier, Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein has recently called to rethink Israel's stance on the Armenian Genocide.
