Turkey is ready to start construction of the land segment of the Turkish Stream natural gas pipeline—from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea—, once it receives the coordinates from Russia.

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Taner Yildiz, stated the aforementioned.

“After cancelation of the South Stream, the 190 km long [natural] gas pipeline—which was to pass through the territory of Bulgaria—will continue through the territory of Turkey. 

“We [i.e. Turkey] need the coordinates of that sector. Turkey petitioned to Russia requesting to receive this information. We received the response, but it was incomplete in several points.

“That’s why it was decided to send another request to receive more detailed information,” the Turkish minister said, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.
