YEREVAN. – Parliamentary elections planned for Sunday in Turkey can be described as historic not only for Turkey, but for the Armenians, expert on Turkic studies Gevorg Petrosyan said during a media conference on Saturday.

He explained that after a 60-years break, we can see two or more deputies of the Armenian origin in the Turkish parliament.

“These elections are rather complicated especially for the ruling Justice and Development party. The main intrigue is whether Kurdish Democratic People's Party will win seats in the parliament,” he noted.

Thus, the struggle between the ruling party headed by Erdogan and Davutoglu and the Kurdish party is the main intrigue. According to Petrosyan, the struggle between Erdogan's party and Kemalists is on the sidelines.

“If compared with the presidential elections last year, this campaign is more heated,” he added.
