YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan’s son Argam Abrahamyan, who was the sole remaining candidate in the election race in Artashat city, has been elected mayor of the city.
Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Central Electoral Commission that Argam Abrahamyan received 10,013 votes. A total of 10,401 people from the 21,013 eligible voters in Artashat cast their ballots in Sunday’s local elections.
At the beginning of the election campaign in Artashat, however, two other people also had submitted their nominations for the post of Mayor of Artashat. But shortly thereafter, they had voluntarily quit the mayoral race.
