A distress call was received on June 4 at 10:55pm.
Accordingly, a jeep had gone off road nearby the Haghpat village church in Armenia’s Lori Province, fallen into the Debed river, there were affected, and rescuers were needed.
Two rescue squads were dispatched to the scene.
It was found out that the jeep had gone off road on the Alaverdi-Ayrum motorway, and rolled into the Debed river.
Prior to the rescue squad’s arrival at the scene, however, V. S., 21, came out of the river on his own, refused to be hospitalized, and informed that his father, A. S., 40, and grandfather, V. S., 65, were still in the vehicle.
The rescue workers used special equipment to bring the vehicle out of the river, and the dead body of A. S. was found inside the car; but no one else was found inside.
The rescue squad commenced search activities which lasted several days.
As a result, the dead body of V. S. was discovered in the Debed river on Sunday at 5:50pm, nearby the Alaverdi-Akhtala motorway. The water rescue workers brought the body out of the river at 9:19pm.
