YEREVAN. – The Armenian authorities are defending governor of Syunik region who has four previous convictions, said MP from Heritage party Zaruhi Postanjyan, author of the parliamentary statement demanding to condemn Surik Khachatryan.  

“You are protecting a person who is dangerous for the society. Threats and violations on his part are dangerous. The witnesses of this violence are citizens of Armenia,” Postanjyan said.

In response speaker of the Armenian parliament Galust Sahkyan said Postanjyan’s statement resembles a verdict.

“You have petitioned to court, but your petition was rejected, as it was probably considered ridiculous,” Sahakyan said.
