YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) did not discuss—with executive director Yevgeny Bibin of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) Company, and chairman Robert Nazaryan of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC)—the amount of the electricity price, but rather the ENA’s petition for raising this price.

President of the National Assembly, Galust Sahakyan, who is also RPA Vice-Chairman, told the above-said to reporters on Monday.

Sahakyan added that the lower the price of electricity becomes, the country’s economy will develop that much better.

The ENA has petitioned to the PSRC, with a request for an electricity price hike in Armenia. If this request is granted, it is expected to be followed by an increase in the prices of first necessity goods in the country.
