YEREVAN. - The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) are already starting to cooperate in the complicated area of the cooperation of tax authorities, Armenia’s Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms told Armenian News – NEWS.am on Tuesday, responding to the question on the difficulties connected with the return of VAT in case of export between the Union republics.  

Much depends on the common practice of tax accounting and the coordination of databases. This is not only about Armenia, but all the 4, now already 5 Union states, including Kirgizstan, Gabrielyan said.  

We need common standards, according to which the tax authorities of different states will be able to exchange information on specific consignments of goods, so that it is clear in which country their VAT can be taxed. “This work requires efforts, and not only from our side. But we have already started this work together,” Gabrielyan said.

Responding to the question on whether the exporters violate the law when including the price in the VAT beforehand, Gabrielyan clarified: “It’s not a violation, but still a problem which we are solving.”
