YEREVAN. – Armenia's Labor and Social Affairs Ministry is calculating the options to help vulnerable families in connection with the expected rise in electricity prices, Minister Artem Asatryan told reporters after government's meeting on Wednesday.

The calculations are made given the average consumption of electricity per family – 200 kilowatt per hour. During summer months, the consumption is reduced to 180 kilowatt.

“We will calculate the effect on socially vulnerable families based on these assessments and will offer assistance options,” Asatryan said.

Public Regulatory Commission plans to increase electricity rate by 6.93 drams instead of 17 drams offered by Electric Networks.
