YEREVAN. – Since the beginning of 2015, the growth of wages in Armenia is twice faster as compared with inflation, Deputy Prime Minister, International Economic Integration and Reforms Minister Vache Gabrielyan said.

In January-May the consumer price index went up by 5.1 percent, while the wages in private sector in January-April increased by 12.6 percent.

In the private sector wages declined only in health and social care areas. But we should not forget that private employment here is small, Gabrielyan said.

Thus, speculations that the country is going down the drain are ungrounded, Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
