The European Union and the United States are finalizing new sanctions against Russia that can be imposed in case of escalation of Ukrainian conflict, CNN reported quoting senior U.S. administration officials and EU diplomats.

New sanctions suggest enlargement of the black list of Russian companies and individuals, as well as expansion of sanctions against financial, energy and defense sectors of Russia.

According to the source, the western leaders have a range of different options “to respond to Russian aggression.”
