YEREVAN. – Some wealthy people are trying keep in low profile and it is difficult to differentiate between the electricity tariff on social grounds, Speaker Galust Sahakyan said.

At the same time, he assured that the government will compensate electricity price rise for the socially vulnerable families. When asked what the rest are going to do, Sahakyan said that compensation will affect many people.

“105,000 families in the country receive benefits. And compensation will be granted to the whole family, not just one person. So, we can talk about about 600 thousand,” he said.

Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission plans to increase electricity rate by 6.93 drams instead of 17 drams as proposed by the Electric Networks of Armenia.
