YEREVAN. - Accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) enables Armenia to enter a new 6-millioned market, Eduard Sharmazanov, Armenian Parliament Deputy Speaker and spokesperson for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) said in the parliament on Monday.

“If there are people who think we have nothing to do in a 6-millioned market, I will keep silent. But I think that we do have a lot to do there. Moreover, everyone has something to do: the MPs, the government and the business community so that the market becomes interesting to the Armenian producers and their products are demanded in Kyrgyzstan,” Sharmazanov said.

“Of course, we need to work. Sitting and waiting is not the right approach. Nobody will do anything for us. We must take on new markets ourselves,” the Deputy Speaker said.   

Armenia joins the Agreement on the accession of Kyrgyzstan to EEU (23 December 2014) by a separate protocol, it being concluded after Armenia signed a document on accession (10 October 2014), but prior to its enforcement (2 January 2015).
