YEREVAN. – The price of electricity produced by the Armenian NPP will be reduced from August 1, 2015, the Public Services Regulatory Commission decided on Wednesday.

Last month the Armenian parliament ratified the draft loan agreement on extending operations of the Armenian nuclear power plant that has been reached with Russia. The agreement signed in February suggests that the Russian side will provide $270 million as a loan and a grant of $30 million to extend operations of the Armenian NPP. The operation of the existing energy unit will be prolonged till 2026.
