YEREVAN. - Gagik Harutyunyan, President of the Armenian Constitutional Court and Chairman of the Commission on Constitutional Reforms, will leave for Strasbourg in a few days to meet with Venice Commission.
According to the sources of Armenian News – NEWS.am, Mr Harutyunyan will return from Strasbourg in mid-July.
Harutyunyan must present Armenia’s new draft Constitution to the Venice Commission.
“There will certainly be a shift to the proportional election system, but it has several types. It’s still unknown which one they will select. As to the form of government, there’s an inclination towards shifting to the parliamentary one. However, criticism on behalf of political forces still compels to search for different options and ways,” the source said.
