YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia on Thursday observed a minute’s silence in memory of Kirk Kerkorian. 

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan made this proposal to pay tribute to the renowned American Armenian businessman and benefactor, and his services rendered to the Armenian nation.

“Kirk Kerkorian has had a great contribution to the establishment of our country, starting from the first days of independence.

“It is impossible to overestimate the assistance he offered to the needy in the difficult years [for Armenia]. 

“The authorities of our country have always respected him and expressed gratitude, and he always enjoyed a worthy respect among the people,” Abrahamyan stated.

Kirk Kerkorian died Tuesday at the age of 98.
