YEREVAN. – Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) has nothing to do with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, stated the aforesaid at the Rose-Roth seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which got underway Thursday in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

In Nalbandian’s words, Armenia, together with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, continues to make efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

“The situation on the [Karabakh-Azerbaijan] Line of Contact is still calm in recent days; analysts link this to the European Games being held in [the Azerbaijan capital city of] Baku,” Armenia’s FM said. “However, there are signs that Azerbaijan has not abandoned its provocative policy.”
