YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan is not sharing Armenia's efforts on the creation of confidence building mechanisms, on the contrary these efforts meet resistance of the Azerbaijani side, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said during NATO PA Rose-Roth seminar in Yerevan.

Azerbaijan has occasionally violated ceasefire regime since a truce agreement was signed in 1994. The violations are in the form of sniper shots, diversion infiltration actions.

“The border tension reached its peak in 2014-2015 years, and has moved from the line of contact with NKR to Armenia's border regions,” Minister Ohanyan said.

However, tension has reduced so far which is connected to the European Games in Baku, he added.

“The Armenian side has always showed restraint. We believe that creation of confidence building mechanisms is the first priority in talks,” the official emphasized.
