YEREVAN. – The inclusion of Germany as the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing state is unrealistic, representative of EU delegation to Armenia Dirk Lorenz said during the Rose-Roth seminar in Yerevan.

His remark came in response to the question by Armenian MP Tevan Poghosyan about whether the European Union has expressed distrust to France as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and is willing to increase the number of countries co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group.

“Not being a member of the OSCE Minsk Group, the EU is also limited in terms of possibilities of involvement. Therefore, we note that we support the Minsk Group, nothing has changed. Yes, I am a German citizen, but I can not speak here on behalf of Germany. As far as I am know, Germany has no specific plans to take on such a role,” he said.

Earlier during his visit to Yerevan OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ivica Dacic said the Azerbaijani side has presented a proposal to expand the number of co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group, meaning Germany and Turkey.
