YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia received a distress call on Sunday at 6:12pm.

Accordingly, a car had fallen into a water canal in capital city Yerevan, a child was stuck inside the vehicle, and rescuers were needed. 

A firefighting brigade, an operative team, and a rescue squad were dispatched to the scene.

It was found out that the said car had gone off road for yet unknown reasons, and fallen into the internal canal of the Hrazdan River.

Prior to the fire and rescue workers’ arrival at the scene, however, the driver of the vehicle, A. S., 45, had managed to get himself out of the canal.

The fire and rescue workers brought G. S., 13, out of the canal and transferred the both of them two hospitals.

The physicians provided A. S. the appropriate medical assistance, but they stated that G. S. is in critical condition.
