YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia received a distress call on Sunday at 7:59pm.

Accordingly, an accident had occurred on the Artashat-Verin Artashat motorway, there were injured, and rescuers were needed.

A fire and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene.

It was found out that a Ford Transit and a VAZ 2106-model vehicle had crashed on the aforementioned motorway for yet unknown reasons.

Prior to the fire and rescue workers’ arrival at the scene, however, the Ford Transit’s driver, G. B., 60, and passenger, H. B., 11, as well as the VAZ 2106’s passenger, A. Kh., 23, were transferred to the Artashat city medical center. Subsequently, H. B. was taken to the Sourb Astvatsamayr (Holy Mother of God) Medical Center in capital city Yerevan.

G. B. and M. Z., however, died in hospital.

Doctors say A. Kh. and H. B. are in moderate and critical condition, respectively.
