YEREVAN. – Armenia is not going to become “brothers” with Turkey and Azerbaijan at the expense of its national interests, spokesperson for ruling RPA Eduard Sharmazanov said.
Armenia should implement regional transportation projects under the conditions of a blockade by Azerbaijan, Sharmazanov said during the debates on credit agreement with Eurasian Development Bank within the North-South Road Corridor project.
“Let's call a spade a spade. Reasons for transport instability in the region are Azerbaijan and Turkey. But we are not going to fraternize with them at the expense of national interests. However, this does not mean that we abandon any possibility of relationship with them. With Turkey we are ready for establishment of relations without preconditions, and with Azerbaijan for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict on the basis of the OSCE principles. And here the right of the people of Karabakh to self-determination has no alternative,” he emphasized.
