YEREVAN. - The meeting of Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan with Diaspora youth who have arrived in Armenia upon the initiative of Depi Hayk Foundation took place today at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense.
The topics discussed during the meeting related to the national army and achievements of the Armed Forces, Defense Ministry Information and Public Relations Department reports.
The opening speech was made by Vardan Avetisyan, Head of Defense Ministry Information and Public Relations Department, who said that the Defense Ministry of Armenia attaches importance to the participation of the Diaspora youth in the prosperity and strengthening of their homeland, stressing the necessity of the patriotic education of the growing generation.
Sevan Kabakian, Managing Director of Depi Hayk Foundation Armenian office, expressed gratitude for the reception, saying that the Diaspora youth visiting Armenia in the framework of the project has one common purpose, namely get known with the homeland and support it.
Seyran Ohanyan presented the main achievements and challenges of the Armed Forces of Armenia, as well as the key dimensions of military cooperation between Armenia and other countries. The Minister stressed the fact that the Armenian Army is improving day by day and is ready to properly counter-attack in case of encroachments.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Defense Minister also responded to the questions of the Diaspora youth, which mainly concerned the process of Karabakh conflict settlement, interstate military cooperation and the combat readiness of Armenia’s Armed Forces.
