The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, informed that as of August 24, his country will be coming out of the information exchange agreement on fight against crime within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

UNN news agency of Ukraine reported the aforementioned citing Avakov’s Facebook account.

The minister noted that no criminal, which the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine had presented, was put on the respective CIS database. As a result, the ministry had decided—back on January 20—to stop the provision of data on criminals that are wanted on the CIS database, and to stop responding to the Russians’ petitions.

“Ukraine will carry out future relations on coordination of criminals’ searches with the CIS countries via the INTERPOL, and not the database under the control of the Russian regime,” stressed Arsen Avakov.
